  1. 2 vols, 8vo. in 4s, I: [4], xxvi, 374 pp., with copper-engraved frontispiece; II: [4], 375-775, [1] pp.; bound with 39 contemporary copper-engraved plates, each in two states (two plates appear in three states), and 12 pen and ink drawings dated variously 1821-2, trimmed and mounted, one with copper-engraved portrait inset; later straight-grained red morocco gilt by Noulhac, signed and dated 1918 in gilt at foot of spine, edges gilt, silk endleaves and doublures; minimal rubbing at extremities, otherwise a very fine extra-illustrated set.

Heath Robinson, some very light, occasional spotting to preliminary pages; publisher's full vellum, front cover pictorially stamped in dark green, red, and gilt and lettered in gilt and spine similarly decorated, lacking ribbon ties, top edge gilt, others untrimmed as published, a few minor marks and age-toning otherwise very good to near-fine.

First edition, no. 20 of 25 examples on papier vergé d'Arches with proofs (total edition 1432); 14 fascicles (as I and 1-13), small folio, I: [12] pp., with 4 hand-coloured wood-engraved plates and polychromatic woodcut ornaments in text, 1-13: [4 (half-title, limitation, title, blank)], [112] pp., with 40 numbered, hand-coloured, copper-engraved and etched pochoir plates, each with uncoloured proof (pl. 36 uncoloured, with additional proof of an earlier state), and a final hand-coloured plate with proof; fascicles 10, 12, & 13 unopened at top-edge, occasional spotting, slight toning at extremities; loose as issued in publisher's printed wrappers, first issue with hand-coloured wood-engraved title vignette, others printed in two colours with hand-coloured rose, fascicle 4 with an additional uncoloured outer wrapper, 7 issues with publisher's glassine, together in a modern cloth solander box, printed paper label to spine; a few light marks, marginal tear to wrapper of fascicle 3 and outer wrapper of fascicle 4 torn, an excellent set.
