18 x 13 cm. 100 leaves, slight soiling to title, a few instances of period ink in margins, upper margin tight and in some cases shaved into headlines, full 19th century calf with spine lettered in gilt, Stirling-Maxwell's copy with his devices to boards in blind, small scuffs to spine, edges rubbed, title laid down and with period ink and engraved bookplate laid on, upper cover detached, worn.

10 vol. 8vo. Contemporary green polished half calf gilt, spines in six compartments, red morocco lettering piece to second, black morocco numbering piece to fourth, others gilt, raised bands, marbled edges.

8vo., xii, 420pp., engraved frontispiece and 11 engraved plates, 46 wood-engravings in the text, later green half morocco gilt, raised bands, all edges gilt, a fine copy.

First edition; 8vo; frontispiece by C.M. Relyea, title printed in red & black with printer's stamp in red to verso, 22pp. publisher's catalogue at end; publisher's dark green cloth blocked in red & gilt, a very good copy.

First edition, first impression; 3 vols, 8vo; a few leaves in vols I & III with some marginal tears and chips from careless opening, vol .III title browned but overall internally very good; publisher's blind-tooled brown cloth, lettered in gilt to spines, a little minor rubbing to extremities but overall a very good, sharp set.

Caton Woodville and Fred Barnard, 10pp. advertisements, spotting to terminal ff., otherwise internally very good; publisher's teal cloth blocked in gilt & silver, bevelled edges, slight rubbing to extremities but overall a very good copy.

Reissue of first edition; 8vo; some light foxing and marginal toning, with some soft creasing and roughening to page-edges towards the end, advertorial endpapers, old repair to fore-edge of front free endpaper; publisher's pictorial paper-covered boards; all edges trimmed, slight rubbing and soiling to binding, mild edge wear, a few tiny spots of soiling; spine ends pushed with a bit of loss at foot, front joint splitting from bottom but sound, lower corners gently bumped, presented in custom brown cloth chemise in brown cloth slip-case, with dark brown leather spine labels stamped in gilt.
