First edition; 12mo, (17.2 x 10.3 cm); engraved folding plate, woodcut initials and tailpiece, contemporary ink illustration to front free endpaper, contemporary inscriptions to front free endpaper and verso of folding plate, slight evidence of worming; contemporary vellum, manuscript lettering to covers, some ink stains, small split to vellum on upper cover, some edges trimmed, overall a very good copy; [7], 48pp.

  2. Folio (578 x 36 cm). 22 double-page engravings of ships, numbered consecutively in the plate 1-22, most with dual French and Dutch titles. Contemporary red half morocco over decorative paper boards, spine richly gilt with foliate motifs, spine label lettered in gilt, a fine copy.

First edition, series 1, issues 1-6; oblong 4to (21 x 30.5 cm); 36 lithographs in colour by Charles Mozin, six in each part, margins slightly browned, very minor foxing; original printed green wrappers with thread ties, some wear, small tear to part VI, in a green cloth clamshell box, spine with gilt title, an excellent set.

Landscape 4to (19 x 28 cm); 11 etched plates of various dock yards including London, Limehouse, Blackwall Reach, foxed and age-toned: publisher's illustrated wrapppers, ink manuscript to top left-hand corner; 'Nos 5 & 6', worn, soiled and chipped with mall lost to upper wrapper, spine chipped and split but holding.

Second edition, folio, title printed in red & black, nearly 400 vignette illustrations of submarines and related, bookseller's small sticker on verso of front fly-leaf, contemporary ownership inscription on half-title, patterned endpapers, original green pictorial cloth lettered and highlighted in gilt, gilt edges, some minor rubbing to extremities but overall a very good copy.
