  1. First edition, inscribed by the author: 'Please accept this dear David not merely as a souvenir of something that is past but as a talisman for the future. With my love and gratitude Noel Coward 'In Which we Serve'' 1941/42'; 8vo (225 x 155 mm); photographic frontispiece of the author and a further 30 illustrations, the usual age-toning, marginal finger-soiling to pp 138 & 138, with small marginal stain to latter, otherwise near-fine; contemporary full maroon morocco by Henry T. Wood, London, all edges gilt, offsetting to endpapers, very mild stain to upper board, rubbed at extremities but in all, sound and wholly original with not restoration.

  2. Long Playing vinyl record, with original 10pp booklet inserted. 1 of 99 numbered copies signed by Durrell. 12' black vinyl record, in original inner sleeve, outer sleeve blue laminated paper printed in black with a design by the author. Some foxing to the pamphlet as usual, trace of creasing to the sleeve but an exceptional example.

  3. First edition, first impression. 8vo. Publisher's red cloth, titles to spine gilt. With the photographic dust jacket. A superb copy in the little rubbed, internally repaired dust jacket missing small pieces at the corners and base of the spine panel.

  4. First edition, first impression, hardback issue, one of 1000 copies. 8vo. Publisher's grey boards, titles to spine in blue. With the dust jacket. Some mild toning to the contents, a number of interesting contemporary pencil notes to a few pages, boards a little browned as often, very good ion the nicked, toned and lightly rubbed dust jacket with some archival tape reinforcement at the top edge.

  5. First edition; folio, (40.4 x 26.7 cm); complete with engraved author portrait and architectural frontispiece and 60 further engraved plates, tissue repair to top of frontispiece, light tears on pp.2, 45, 283, missing corner on p.283, tape repair to plate xli; recent vellum binding; 340pp.

  6. First U.S. edition, inscribed by the author; 8vo; photographic illustrations, publisher's red cloth, titles to spine gilt on a black ground, illustrated, near-fine; handwritten letter by the same loosely inserted.

  7. First edition, 4to (31 x 24 cm); presentation copy, inscribed by Dolin to Sir Basil Bartlett on the half title page 'Dear Basil | Friend of many memories love Pat'. Tipped in 4 autograph postcards signed to Sir Basil Bartlett (late 1970s to early 1980s) containing brief chat about foreign trips, and also 4 ALSs also to Bartlett, from Italy and Japan, on both work and holidays with John Gilpin (3 one page), the other 2 pages from Capri referring to the death of Noël Coward; one TLS on the headed notepaper of the Lindsay Kemp company (10 May 1977) about appearing in Salomé with Kemp at the Broadway Theatre in Maida Vale. Also tipped in 3 newspaper obituaries of Dolin and a flyer for the international gala at the Royal Opera House celebrating Dolin. Very good condition (repaired minor tears to dust jacket, corners and edges of binding/spine lightly bumped).

  8. First edition; 8vo; presentation copy inscribed by Lifar on the half-title, 'a Eugene Mollo son ami Serge Lifar London 1938', frontispiece portrait, photographic reproductions throughout; publisher's printed wrappers, some wear and soiling, in a custom made clam shell box.

  9. First edition; 4to; black & white photographic illustrations, publisher's white cloth, lettered in black, tiny stain to upper edge of front cover, large one to rear cover, offset to dust-jacket, the exterior of the jacket near-fine with only mild dust-soiling.

  10. First U.K. edition; 4to; publisher's cloth, mild wear to edges, pictorial dust-jacket, chipped and rubbed at estremities, three short tears but not price-clipped, in the main, good and internally fine.
