  1. Two landscape portfolios (27.7 x 35 cm). Complete with 12 unnumbered plates and 8 lithographed plates accordingly, loose as issued. Both in publisher's illustrated wrappers; small marginal tears, spine of 'Sketches from Children's Lives' split.

  2. First edition; elephant folio (73.6 x 54 cm); title, dedication leaf, 4pp. of text, 10 plates with tissue guards on China paper with full margins by Cadolle lithographed by Deroy, Joly, Lemaitre, Fragonard, Renoux, Jacottet, Dupressoir and others, subscriber's list, text foxed, some spotting to plates; contemporary half red morocco and red boards, spine with gilt tooling, some wear to spine, corners bumped.

  3. First edition; 5 parts in 1 vol; folio (54 x 42 cm); 62 chromolitgographic plates with tissue guards after Gagarin, Karpov, Timm, Zichy, F. Teichel, Viale, Zakharov and others, double-page map, plate of skulls, spotting, water stain to corner of preliminary pages; contemporary brown morocco with title to cover and spine rebacked retaining original spine, lightly rubbed.

  4. First edition; 3 vols in one; frontispiece portrait, 100 colour plates, text in French and English, water stain effecting the latter plates, half dark green morocco, spine with gilt tooling and the title 'Russians and Turks', slightly worn; [bound with] Tableau générale de l'empire Othoman, Imprimerie de Monsieur, Paris, 1787, vol. I only, engraved title-page, dedication to King of Sweden, 41 plates, several folding, missing 3 plates (13,19 and 36).

First edition; 2 parts in one volume; folio (65.6 x 48 cm); title and dedication, text in French and Italian, 180 engraved plates including two frontispieces, wide-margins, some minor foxing to titles but otherwise plates in excellent condition; modern quarter black morocco and marbled boards, spine with raised bands and gilt title.

  6. First edition, limited edition of 500 copies, this copy hors serie; 4to, illustrated with 30 plates by Grigoriev with tissue guards; publisher's special binding for the owner of half vellum over boards, title gilt stamped to upper cover as well as 'The Moscow Art Theatre...Special Edition by Order of Morris Gest'.

  7. Folio (37.4 x 28); hand-coloured engraved title-page, title-pages in English and French, dedication leaf to Princess Elizabeth, illustrated with 72 colour plates with text in English and French, marbled endpapers, some foxing to free endpapers otherwise very fresh, text block slightly detached from lower board; contemporary brown calf over brown boards, title in gilt to spine, spine and edges worn.

  8. Unique copy on papier japon; 8vo (21.5 x 14.5 cm); illustrated with 26 original gouaches signed by Sergey Solomko in place of the 25 engravings by Gaston Vuillier, 5 of which are full-page; red morocco, gilt doublures with yellow silk, marbled endpapers, spine in six parts with rasied bands, gilt title and date, a.e.g.; in excellent condition.

  9. First edition; landscape folio (33.5 x 48.5 cm); illustrated tilte-page, dedication, preface, 2 letterpress tables, a 'Profiles of the Skulls' plate printed in two colours, a chromolithographic map, 31 photogravures, with additional pamphlet by the author with blue wrappers, in excellent conidion; unbound as issued within original green cloth portfolio, upper cover blocked in gilt with titling in Russian, white-watered silk lining, cover slightly rubbed.

  10. Three parts in 1 vol. 8vo (20.2 x 12.8 cm). Frontispiece, title, pp. [12], vi, [2], 198, with 53 engraved plates; title, pp. 234, with 18 plates; title, pp. [2], 221, with 39 plates; small hole with loss of a few letters to pp. 53-54, part 1; small light waterstain to several ll. in part 3. Contemporary full calf, blind tooling to spine, red morocco label to spine with lettering in blind.
