First edition in French, landscape folio (28.5 x 40 cm), 17 lithographic plates with original tissue guards, original printed boards, a little stained, repair to lower corner of cover and joints, a very good copy of a scarce work.

First English edition, small folio (26.8 x 18.2 cm), [10], 356, [28] pp., lacking first blank leaf, contemporary mottled calf, speckled edges, minor staining, upper joint repaired, edges of binding slightly worn, a very good example.

First edition, folio (47 x 37.7 cm), title-page and 12 magnificent hand-coloured aquatint plates by R. Havell after Cartwright, plate of Ali Pacha mounted within ruled border, contemporary dark blue polished half calf gilt over cloth boards, lettered in gilt to upper cover, occasional light marginal soiling and spotting, rubbed.

Folio (49 x 33 cm approx.), engraved throughout, comprising: title with preface by Cars on verso, 'Anecdotes' (pp.I-II), 'Explication des figures' (pp.III-XIV), leaf of music (printed recto only), and 102 engraved plates (3 double-page), all with fine contemporary hand-colouring, 30 plates heightened with gold and mica . Bound in full contemporary French red morroco, gilt tooled. Some restoration to spine extremities. A fine example.

First English edition, folio (335 x 222 mm), engraved allegorical title after R. du Val, engraved portrait of the author after Sir Godfrey Kneller, folding engraved general map and 213 engravings on 98 plates (many folding or double-page) showing costumes, views, including panoramas, antiquities, numerous engraved illustrations in text, contemporary calf, rebacked, some edge-wear, corners worn, lightly rubbed, plate 4, Smyrna, with small area of loss to blank margin, plate 21, Magnesia, with small area of loss to blank fore-margin and slightly to image, usual creasing to large panoramas, generally a clean, attractive example.

Near contemporary full green straight-grained morocco by Fairbairn and Armstrong, panelled in gilt and blind, spine richly gilt, raised bands, large turn-ins decorated in gilt and blind, all edges gilt; a little rubbed at extremities.
