In a series of meditations, Brillat-Savarin discourses on the pleasures of the table, which he considers a science. First published in December 1825, two months before Brillat-Savarin's death, Phisiologie has not been out of print since it first appeared.

Lalauze, including portrait frontispiece and head- and tail-pieces, occasional light offsetting, contemporary ownership inscription in pencil dated 1888, marbled endpapers; contemporary half morocco over marbled boards, gilt lettering to spine, top edge gilt, corners rubbed, overall a very good copy; xvi, 516pp.
