First illustrated edition of Haraucourt's Héro et Léandre, with 42 etched illustrations by André-Édouard Marty, from a total edition of 125, this being number 32.

Inspired by a classic tale of Greek tragedy, Haraucourt's dramatic poem Héro et Léandre tells the Greek myth of the lovers Hero and Leander, and the story of their forlorn fate. It is divided into three acts - the meeting of the pair (la rencontre), a time of separation (l'exil), and the union (l'hyménée), each subdivided into tableaux. It was performed for the first time at the Paris cabaret theatre in Montmartre, Le Chat Noir, in November 1893.
