The Central Asiatic Expedition went into Mongolia to seek and discover the ancestry of man, and explore the natural history of the region. Andrews conducted the expeditions on an unprecedented scale and secured observations, records, measurements, photographs and collections which constitute materials for the 114 previously published scientific articles as well as for the 12 volumes of final reports. However only 7 volumes were actually produced.
