The authors last novel, written whilst living in abject poverty. In part autobiographical, the narrative details the amorous pursuit of the beautiful widow of a famous writer (in fact based on his pursuit of George Orwell's wife, Sonia).

This is the author's scarcest book, especially with the elusive dust-jacket.
