Uncommon publication (limited to 850 copies) featuring works of the celebrated Ukrainian poet. Many of the poems were published here for the first time after having been discovered by the editors in archives.

The publication was planned to be issued in 1923 to mark a 50 years anniversary since the poet's death, but because of the lack of funds and technical difficulties it came out only two years later.

Stepan Rudanskiy (1833 - 1873) made his name not only as a talented poet and translator of ancient literature, but also as a pioneer in collecting and recording Ukrainian folklore. Large part of Rudanskiy's own oeuvre comprises satirical anti-imperialistic poems that largely follow Taras Shevchenko's traditions. It comes as no surprise that very few of his works passed censorship and were published before the revolution.
