A fresh copy of the first edition
Part of Pavlishchev's Geography, on which he worked in the then provincial city of Warsaw. The work includes interesting facts and statistics about European powers, and their influence worldwide.

The historian Nikolay Pavlishchev (1801-79) served in Poland about 40 years and published important works on Poland, Ukraine and Russia. When he was 24, he developed a close relationship with the slightly older Pushkin and married the poet's sister, Olga Sergeevna, three years later in 1828.
