Rare leather de Luxe copy, inscribed by the author Allan Ramsay to his wife Winifred. This striking volume contains a beautifully presented collection of Ottoman folklore, complete with 45 illustrations by M. Veniamin Pavlovich.

The half-title is inscribed thus: 'To Winifred who does not require the 'words' of wisdom of the Hodja but appreciates the words of love. With much love from A Ramsay. London 30/11/1914. Borrowed from Winifred and given to the Rev. Dr. R. ýý A, R.'

Rare de Luxe edition, presentation copy inscribed by the author to his wife; 4to; 45 full-page illustrated plates by M. Veniamin Pavlovich Bielkin, including frontispiece, scattered light foxing, hinges cracked but holding; publisher's brown pictorial leather with silhouette of minarets against a night sky, gilt letting to spine and upper cover, binding slightly worn, top edge gilt, others uncut, a good copy overall.
