Elephant folio (82 x 60 cm); 39 plates with plate numbers printed in the top right corner (starting with plate 41), light foxing to a few plates, a few plates a little loose; bound in contemporary boards with wrapper attached to upper cover, metal corner protectors to upper and lower covers, wrapper stained.

Two vols, folio (53 x 34 cm); 145 stipple engraved plates after Jacques Barraband, printed in colours and finished by hand (with tissue guards); half-titles present, list of plates at end of each volume, uncut, two leaves of letterpress with marginal closed-tears, occasional minor foxing; contemporary French half red morocco-grain roan, spines lettered in gilt, dark slate-green pebble-grain cloth, bindings slightly rubbed; overall a very attractive copy.

Landscape folio (45.1 x 56.9 cm), [4], ii, [2], 146, [4] pp., with 40 hand-coloured aquatint plates; a few short marginal tears, tear to plate I repaired, occasional light dust-staining and spotting; contemporary red straight-grained morocco, borders and lozenge roll-tooled in gilt and blind, spine gilt in compartments, lettered directly in one, all edges gilt; neatly rebacked and recornered, a little worn at extremities, corners bumped, nonetheless a very good copy.

Hand coloured continuous folding strip view of London and the Thames (30 x 236 cm), engraved key to panorama at end, (expert repairs to edges as required), publisher's red cloth gilt cover flap (advertisement to verso), on original wooden roller (lower wooden knob with small loss), an excellent example.

  5. 4to (27 x 20 cm)., engraved frontispiece portrait of Lord Amherst, 3 engraved maps (1 browned), 1 folding, 7 hand-coloured aquatint plates (1 with a couple of small ink splashes), half calf over marbled boards, spine tooled in gilt, scattered spotting and notes in pencil, maps browned (folding map with small tear), a few minor repairs to calf, a nice fresh copy.

Folio (49 x 33 cm approx.), engraved throughout, comprising: title with preface by Cars on verso, 'Anecdotes' (pp.I-II), 'Explication des figures' (pp.III-XIV), leaf of music (printed recto only), and 102 engraved plates (3 double-page), all with fine contemporary hand-colouring, 30 plates heightened with gold and mica . Bound in full contemporary French red morroco, gilt tooled. Some restoration to spine extremities. A fine example.

Second edition; 4to; two hand-coloured plates and further engraved illustrations and vignettes within the text, neat, contemporary ink gift inscription to front flyleaf, a few random spots, otherwise very good, contemporary gilt-panelled calf, all edges gilt, cockerel endpapers, staining and wear to boards but still a very handsome binding; xvii, 298pp.

Landscape folio (27 x 38 cm), vi, [7]-18 pp., hand-coloured lithograph map and 10 hand-coloured lithographs (including one folding panorama and some with two or more images), 2pp. list of subscribers at end, original printed wrappers, spine renewed, well preserved in modern morocco-backed green cloth box, a fine copy.

First edition, folio (59.2 x 43.8 cm), engraved title page, dedication, 52 pp., 12 engraved vignettes in text, 40 fine hand-coloured lithographs by Lemercier after Dupré, all plates titled and numbered, and blind-stamped with the artist's monogram encircled; complete with the Turkish Firman, text leaves a bit spotted, small marginal repair to lower blank margin plate 1, last plate a little toned with small marginal repairs to verso, all tissue guards taped to verso of preceding plate, contemporary Greek red half morocco gilt by Lardi of Athens with his ticket, neatly rebacked, corners renewed, covers a little spotted.

  10. Second edition. Landscape folio (62 x 45.8 mm). 12 hand-coloured aquatint plates by John William Edy after R.H. Colebrook, with watermarks dating 1801 and 1804, descriptive letterpress interleaved with the plates; some neat repairs to margins of plates, with occasional staining or foxing to margins. Bound in later half-black calf over marbled boards, spine with decorative gilt bands, red morocco label with gilt title.
