Floral-patterned green endpapers. 9 engraved illustrations including frontispiece, 2 colour maps (one of which folding, with a closed tear to top). Original cloth. xxxviii, 538, 4 pp. A fine copy.

First edition, ink presentation form the author to front free endpaper, photogravure fonrtispiece portrait of the author and numerous further illustrations, some full-page, very occasional mottling to head of page, most noticeable to title, otherwise good; handsome mid-twentieth century half morocco gilt, marbled endpapers and top edge gilt.

First edition, 3 atlases bound in 2 vols; folio; 203 plates plates comprising: [Album Historique, Ethnologique et Archéologique] large folding map mounted on linen, 59 lithographed plates (3 of which are folding) most coloured, part-coloured or tinted bound with [Album Zoologie:] 40 hand-coloured engraved plates of mammals, birds, reptiles and fish, and insects, separately bound [Atlas Botanique:] 103 engraved plates, some light foxing throughout; half green morocco over green cloth boards, gilt title blind stamped to covers, spine gilt ruled with title and tooling, a fine copy.

Thick 4to (245 x 165); portrait frontispiece of the poet after Romney, additional pictorial title and 4 further plates after J. Gilbert, offsetting from frontispiece to pictorial title and a few spots to both, otherwise fine; mid-twentieth century full morocco, foliate gilt-panelled, gilt-tooled spine panels and dentelles, mild rubbing to extremities, a very handsome volume.

First edition. Folio, xii, 361, [1], pp., 41 engraved plates, some double-page, engravings in text, occasional light browning, contemporary russia, covers with wide gilt borders, spine richly gilt, a very handsome example.

Large paper edition, number 101 or 150; 3 vols, 4to (240 x 175 mm), engraved frontispieces to each volume, further illustrations in text, title pages in red and black, spotting to preliminary and terminal pages, mostly to endpapers with only the the odd spot any further, corner crease to upper free endpapers of vol. ii, otherwise very good; mid-twentieth century half red morocco over cloth, one-line gilt panelled, top edge gilt, otherwise untrimmed, as published, small bookseller's label of H.V. Day to upper past-down of vol. i, slight dust-soiling to bindings, minor darkening of spines but all in all, very good indeed.

First edition, number 9 of 100 specially bound copies, from an overall limitation of 750; folio (310 x 190 mm.); printed in dark green throughout, wood-engraved frontispiece, title vignette, 6 chapter headings and device, all by John Buckland-Wright, one full-page map of the east coast of Australia; full green morocco, gilt, by Sangorski & Sutcliffe, top edge gilt, others uncut, spine very slightly lightened, but otherwise an excellent copy; housed in original cloth slip-case, lightly marked.

Thick 8vo (220 x 155); engraved frontispiece portrait by W. Humphreys from a print by Faithorne, title printed in red black, elegant MS presentation to front free endpaper dated 'Xmas 1879', a few random spots to preliminary and terminal leaves, otherwise fine; publisher's full polished calf, gilt-panelled, gilt-tooled spine panels and lettering-piece, marbled endpapers and matching edges, stamped Bickers and Son on verso of upper enpaper, mildly rubbed, a few marks from use, otherwise a most attractive volume in very good order.

8vo (200 x 140 mm); internally fine; modern full crimson morocco gilt, all edges gilt, a few very superficial marks, otherwise near-fine.

8vo (20 x 13 cm); [iv], xxiv, 262 pp., [5], biography of Krylov written by P. A. Pletnev, 25 hand-coloured full-page lithographs by Ulyanov including a frontispiece, plates on various colour paper, minor staining to text block, title foxed; original hand-coloured lithographic boards dated 1848, spine skilfully rebacked, retaining most of the original design, some wear to boards but overall good copy.
