  1. First edition. Folio, xii, 361, [1], pp., 41 engraved plates, some double-page, engravings in text, occasional light browning, contemporary russia, covers with wide gilt borders, spine richly gilt, a very handsome example.

Limited edition, one of 600 copies, this being copy number one; folio (34 x 26 cm); 127pp., with 30 plates by Bakst, including 20 coloured by pochoir, 5 colour printed and mounted and 5 plain, lettered tissue guards, black and white and colour illustrations in the text, some restoration to gutter, very minor spotting; original cloth backed boards with vignette printed to centre of upper cover, slight browning, original printed dust jacket with Bakst's design, spine replaced and covers repaired, a very good copy.

First edition, printed in Arabic type-set in red and black, complete, small 8vo (165 by 110 mm); Arabic text within ruled borders, key words and phrases printed in red, printed catch-words and wood-block printed devices, ownership and bibliographical inscriptions to front free endpapers (in Arabic and Italian, probably nineteenth-century), clean condition internally; contemporary blind embossed morocco, stamped in gilt with coptic-style central and corner medallions of a floral motif, upper cover a little darkened and soiled, otherwise a good copy.

First edition, first issue; 8vo (200 x 135 mm); a few random spots, pencil ownership inscription dated 1914 to front free endpaper and scholarly notes to rear fly-leaf in the same hand (pencil), dated 13.III.14; publisher's bronze pebbled cloth, some light fading to spine and covers, minor dent to spine, spine ends and corners a little bumped, a bright and excellent example overall; ix [2] 2-50, [2 including one advertisement] pp.

First edition, first impression, inscribed presentation copy; 8vo; illustrated title page, pages browned as usual, some marks and spots throughout, 3pp ALS from the author tipped in; publisher's grey, watered silk, titles to spine gilt, top edge gilt, edges a little rubbed; 16 pp ads at end. Very good indeed.

First edition, first impression, one of 1000 copies; 4to (22 x 17.5 cm); portrait frontispiece, page stock just a little toned as usual, partial offsetting to the endpapers; publisher's red cloth, paper title label to spine, with the dust jacket, couple of light marks to the upper board but a notably fresh copy in the dust jacket which has had a little internal repair and some professional work on two or three small chips.

  8. First edition, 2 parts and supplement in 1 vol; folio (45 x 32.5 cm); hand-coloured double-page map by G. Guerra and 59 engraved hand-coloured plates after Pietro Fabris, the plates edged in black with grey washed margins including two engraved titles; contemporary red morocco, richly gilt, covers with gilt dentelles. NB. lacks first leaf of text in vol. I, else an excellent example.

Illuminated manuscript on polished paper, in Farsi, 73 leaves (plus a contemporary free endpaper at the end), complete, 182 by 110 mm.; double column, 17 lines elegant and refined black nasta'liq, vibrant and fine illuminated polychrome and gold heading opening the text, twenty-six miniature paintings in the text, depicting important scenes in the romance and painted with vivid colours in the contemporary Qajar style, leaves double ruled in red, blue and gold, tissue-guards loosely inserted throughout; some very faint spotting to final few gatherings, overall very bright and attractive condition; housed in contemporary leather-backed gilt lacquered boards depicting floral sprays ruled and framed within corner-pieces and a gilt border, contemporary paper label to spine inscribed with title of the work in Farsi, spine ends very lightly worn, extremities slightly rubbed, overall bright and attractive binding.
