Shepard, folding map at rear; publisher's green cloth-backed boards, paper label on spine, leaves uncut, printed dust-jacket, endpapers slightly browned, extremities and spine label slightly spotted, dust-jacket with two small closed tears at spine ends, otherwise a fine copy preserved in a custom made blue cloth solander box.

Veniamin Pavlovich Bielkin, including frontispiece, scattered light foxing, hinges cracked but holding; publisher's brown pictorial leather with silhouette of minarets against a night sky, gilt letting to spine and upper cover, binding slightly worn, top edge gilt, others uncut, a good copy overall.

First edition thus, special copy on blue vellum, from a total edition of 20, Prokosch's own copy with his signed bookplate, also signed by him on the colophon; 12mo; original hand-coloured illustration by Frederic Prokosch signed by him in pencil and mounted as frontispiece, light marginal toning; original green marbled wrappers, silver label to upper cover, with Prokosch's manuscript 'Bibliographical Note' on blue paper, preserved in marbled folding case and quarter morocco slipcase. A fine example.

First edition thus, first impression, one of 352 copies, from a total edition of 518, all on Arches pure rag paper; 3 vols, folio, (42.8 x 34.5 cm); collotype facsimile illustrations hand-coloured through stencil, text onlays, light spotting to prelims, scattered light toning to text (not affecting illustrations), otherwise unmarked internally; publisher's tan quarter morocco over marbled paper-covered boards, gilt lettering to spine, spine slightly faded on text volume, matching morocco-edged slipcases, overall a bright and attractive set.

First edition, first printing, regular issue, limited to 1000 numbered copies printed on Old Antique Dutch paper (there were also 29 casebound copies, each signed by the author); large 8vo; initial letter, tail-piece and cover designed by the author's daughter Lucia; publisher's cream wrappers, titles to spine in blue decoration and titles to front wrapper in blue, black and silver, with the original silvered card slipcase titles in silver on a pink ground. Spine a little faded but a lovely copy in the slightly defective slipcase.
