New York Book Fair 2022

After two years we are absolutely delighted to be exhibiting once more in the Park Avenue Armory.  We have secured one of the key stands for this New York Book Fair, Stand E3, allowing us to bring a wonderful range from across our various departments, a selection of which we present below.

Limited edition, one of 50 deluxe copies, this being number 40, from a total edition of 250, 4to (28 x 20.5 cm); 63 reproductions (31 with pochoir colouring) and an etching on Arches, signed and numbered in pencil by the artist, with full margins, loose as issued, each plate blindstamped P.R. on the lower right corner; folder with title and justification on japon, illegible dedication to title, unsophisticated tape repairs to folder, slight age-toning to plates; in the original cloth backed marbled chemise, label pasted to upper cover, black ties, an excellent example.

First edition, sole impression, one of 200 copies on 'small paper', from an overall limitation of 225; small 4to (220 x 170 mm); printed in black, green & sepia on Arnold's handmade paper, some with the Vale Press watermark, pictorial title-page and 9 full-page illustrations in sepia, decorative initials printed in green, all by Charles Ricketts, original vellum with gilt designs by Ricketts to covers and spine. Housed in a quarter morocco slipcase. Rockwell Kent designed bookplate to front paste down, very light spotting to some pages, boards a little bowed as usual, gilt to spine rather dull. Very good.

  3. First edition, sole impression; 8vo; publisher's buff wrappers, titles to front wrapper in black; just a trace of toning to the backstrip but a remarkably nice copy.

  4. First edition, first impression, first issue binding; small 8vo; mild browning to endpapers as always; publisher's green cloth, titles to upper board and spine gilt, housed in a quarter green morocco solander box. A spectacular copy with the merest of rubbing at the tips.

First edition, signed by the author, number 7 of 110 copies, with a page of the original manuscript tipped in; 8vo; illustrated frontispiece after a drawing by Waugh, photographic plates, decorated endpapers, endpapers with tape marks; publisher's light blue cloth, spine lettered in gilt, top edge gilt, an unusually fine copy of a scarce item.

First edition, first impression, inscribed to Paul Gallico, 8vo; publisher's dark grey cloth, spine lettered in silver, front cover with knife motif stamped in blind and silver, dust-jacket by Richard Chopping; red endpapers, top edge severely browned (as with several of Gallico's Bond books) and with some leed to upper margin of some leaves, but otherwise a very decent copy in the little worn dust jacket.

Limited edition numbered 21 of 180 (total edition 205) , signed by Miró in pencil on colophon; folio (43 x 33 cm). pp. (viii), 133, (xv), 13 lithographs printed in colours by Miro ,printed by Mourlot, on Arches wove paper, all loose as issued in the publisher's printed wrappers, cream coloured chemise and matching slipcase; a very attractive copy.

  8. Limited edition, number 72 of 1,000 copies signed by Damien Hirst, Robert Sabbag & Howard Marks to title; 8vo (230 x 145 mm): publisher's binding designed by Hirst in silver-backed reinforced mirror boards, endpapers & slipcase printed with collage of hundred dollar bills, all edges argent.

  9. First edition, 3 vols (incl. supplement), 8vo (24 x 16 cm) with an autograph letter signed by the author (3pp), presentation note from W.H. Mullens (author of A bibliography of British ornithology) to Thomas Parkin, 169 hand-coloured lithographed plates, bookplate, marbled endpapers; some slight foxing and marking to some plates but mainly to the verso and few preliminary pages; contemporary half black morocco, marbled boards; spine lavishly gilt decorated and lettered; a fine example.

  10. First edition, first impression, first issue binding; presentation copy inscribed by the author. 8vo; 2pp. advertisements, photographic frontispiece and 15 full-page illustrations. Publisher's blue cloth, titles to spine gilt. Boards lightly marked, spine just a touch faded and slightly rolled. Very good indeed.
