First edition in book form, one of circa 300 copies; 12mo; printed in black & red, title-page and colophon with decorations, bookplate to front pastedown; publisher's roan-backed boards with title printed in gaelic font to upper cover, a little spotted and rubbed; housed in later morocco-backed marbled board solander.

Folio (41.4 x 26.8 cm.), two title-pages, text in two columns, ruled in red, two printed title-pages, extra-illustrated with 213 engraved plates (29 double-page), marbled endpapers, some minor marginal staining to some plates, bookplates; bound in contemporary navy morocco gilt with the arms of the second duke of Newcastle, all edges gilt, the border beautifully decorated with an elaborate gilt design , spines also gilt in compartments, gilt edges, bindings slightly faded, extremities very slightly rubbed; otherwise an excellent copy.

Number 22 of 100 copies signed by the author; narrow 8vo (c. 200 x 110 mm); printed on Japanese vellum, partly unopened, portrait frontispiece, plates, 6pp. advertisements, bookplate to front pastedown; publisher's vellum, gilt to upper cover, top edge gilt, others uncut, slight splaying but overall very good.

First American edition, first printing, Henry Miller's copy, annotated by him; 8vo; publisher's quarter blue cloth, grey boards, decoration to upper board in blue, titles to spine in black, an excellent copy, dust-jacket somewhat worn; housed in a blue cloth folding box.
