This year HM Queen Elizabeth II will become the first British Monarch to celebrate their Platinum Jubilee marking 70 years of service.

In celebration of HM Queen Elizabeth II's historic reign, we take a look at just some of the incredible range of books & works on paper that have shaped the last seven decades.

First editions, three volumes, 8vo., a few minor spots to endpapers and fore-edge of first two volumes, publisher's blue cloth, spines lettered in gilt, original dust-jackets printed in red and blue, black and yellow, not price-clipped, the first volume with small chips to head of spine and slightly rubbed on corners, slight fading to spine of first two volumes, a few spots on inner flaps of second, otherwise very good plus.

First edition, presentation inscription by Gielgud to half-title; 4to; numerous illustrations from photographs; publisher's blue cloth gilt, faded at top and bottom edges, illustrated endpapers of 'leading ladies', mild crease to upper free one, pictorial dust-jacket, chipped, worn and creased, closed tear to rear panel but the inscription inside more than compensates for a less than perfect dust-jacket; together with a theatre programme for John Gielgud's production of Hamlet at the Lyceum Theatre, London; cream wrappers, printed in gold, red and black, toned and dust-soiled but sound and remarkably sound and complete; [2] xxiii [2]pp.

First edition, first issue (no mention of later printings but with textual errors corrected), 8vo,. publisher's black cloth, spine lettered and stamped in gilt, gilt vignette stamped on front cover, spine faintly dulled, first issue dust-jacket without the two line credit on the front flap, printed in magenta, small areas of professional, historic restoration to top corners of spine-head and folds, spine panel very faintly sunned, minor edge-wear, otherwise a superior copy both internally and externally.

First edition, inscribed by the author on half-title; 4to (245 x 170 mm.); numerous full & half-page colour plates, reproduced drawings on colour paper, illustrations and black & white photographs, slight toning to paper but clean; publisher's moire cloth gilt, light wear to corners, pictorial dust-jacket, darkening, more so to spine, spine-ends chipped, a few spots and a small loss to upper edge of rear panel but overall a very good example.
