  1. First edition. Folio (54.5 x 39 cm), iv, [viii], 33, [i] pp., 61 engraved plates on 54 sheets, many double-page or folding by Bartolozzi, Zucchi, and others , subscription list, contemporary calf gilt, occasional light spotting, rebacked, corners repaired, boards rubbed, a very good example.

Small 4to, [12], 20, [4], 21-980, [4] pp., couple of pages of the Epistle dedicatory with ink splashes (causing minor loss of text), light old browning pages 940-957, pages 951 - 976 intermittently shaved close at head, last leaf with small repairs to inner margin (not affecting text), modern contemporary style blind-stamped calf by Bernard Middleton, overall this is a very pleasing example which opens well throughout, an excellent copy.

  3. 5 vols, large 8vo, titles in red and black with coloured vignette, 129 engraved plates, maps, etc. after Thomas Allom, 127 illustrations in the text, some foxing or staining to titles and plates, very handsome contemporary gren half morocco gilt in the style of Lewis, a very handsome set.

  4. 40 volumes, quarto, complete run of the first of 39 volumes plus the special atlas to accompany volumes 29 & 30, all first editions save the first two volumes which are later reprints, profusely illustrated with photographic illustrations and maps, original blue cloth gilt, some spines a little faded, overall an excellent run.

III, toning to endpapers, otherwise a near-fine internally; publisher's blue cloth gilt, rubbed and bumped at extremities, usual slight bowing to boards due to weight of text blocks, upper hinge (inside) of vols I & III split but firm, in all, very good.
