Limited edition, one of 450 copies for America, this being number 79, 4to (33.5 x 27 cm); title-page in black and red designed by Goncharova who also designed the tail-pieces, frontispiece of Diaghilev, 66 plates tipped in on grey paper after Bakst, Benois, Fedorovsky, Golovin, Goncharova, Larionov, Picasso, Sert, Roerich, Sudeikin and others, mostly in colour, some slight foxing to prelims; original marbled boards and white cloth spine with title in gilt, spine extremities bumped, a good copy.

Sch' on the limitation page, foreword by Gide, illustrations in colour by Shukhaev including 7 plates hors-texte, with two additional suites of 19 illustrations each, loose in a separate portfolio, one in colour on japon and one in black on chine, with tissue guards, a.e.g.; 20th century fine binding by Hélène Cauchetier, full green morocco with original wrappers bound in, upper cover with playing card motif inlay design of various colours, doublures with green patterned paper guards, green marbled endpapers, chemise and slipcase, extra suites in a corresponding chemise, an excellent example.
