Soft ground etching in black and white; 60 x 50 cm, including frame. Artist's name etched in black at bottom right of etching, with his Hebrew name underneath (Haim Aaron ben David); etching glued on a white background with Theodor Herzl's own signature in pencil at the bottom right; at the bottom left of the picture is a star of David with Hermann Struck's initials in it, to its right is his signature in pencil. Very good condition.

First edition. Portfolio, 57 x 39 cm; original creme coloured boards with paste down on front board and ribbon ties. No. 41 out of an edition of 100. Boards soiled and rubbed, pencil inscription to upper left hand corner of front board, fraying to corners and board edges. 10 plates; some light tanning to outer margins of a few plates, lower left corner of one plate dog eared, with tissue guards heavily wrinkled, but plates overall clean and bright with minimal wear. A nice copy overall of a rare work.
