  1. First edition; 2 vols, oblong folio (330 x 260mm, 13 x 10 1/8 in); orchestral score with libretto in Italian and German, vol. I with additional engraved vignette title by Bolt after Kinninger (foxed) of the supper scene between Commendatore and Don Giovanni, printed title with attractive ink presentation to upper corner margin, dated 1877) and 2 following pp. of text, engraved musical score 6-292pp, vol. II with printed title and engraved musical score 294-590pp, with separate printed divisional title 'Anhang von spaeter eingelegten Stuecken', some sporadic light foxing and minor staining, mostly to final leaf of vol. I, some leaves trimmed at upper edge with loss to pagination in vol.2 but in the main clean and bright; modern diced calf, upper covers lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers and edges, most attractive.

  2. 4to (285 x 230 mm); engraved vignette title with portrait of John Gay, Table of the Songs, Dramatis Personne 1777, Introduction, the playscript, and music score with libretto, toned, a few random spots or marks, otherwise very good; later full polished calf, scuffed, marked and bumped but very sound.

First edition, number 101 of 150 copies; 4to (26 x 21 cm); 27 text illustrations wood-engraved by Pierre Bouchet and printed in colour after designs by Barbier; presentation copy, signed by Barbier on front blank; loose as issued in original pictorial wrappers after Barbier, publisher's burgundy cloth chemise and slipcase.

Limited edition, one of 500 copies (this numbered 133); 4to (28 x 21 cm); with 45 illustrations from original watercolours by Pierre Brissaud reproduced in pochoir and retouched by hand; original illustrated wrappers, in a chemise of blue boards with gilt and black square decorative design, black morocco label to spine, in a chemise of blue boards, an excellent copy.

  5. Limited edition, signed by the illustrator to Doctor Potel, on papier japon; large 4to, (27.5 x 21.5 cm); 27 wood engravings in-text by G. Aubert and 10 coloured etchings hors-texte by André Lambert all after original watercolours by Gerda Wegener, with an extra suite in black and yellow; original wrappers with covers, ink inscription to top left corner of cover, some wear to edges but internally fine.

Limited edition and the first illustrated, one of 51 copies (this being no. 34) on papier hollande (from a total edition of 582); 4to (32.5 x 27 cm); illustrated with 24 original engravings after Lobel-Riche in three states, an extra suite of 12 of the plates in three states and an additional signed pen ink drawing, three pages of manuscript notes by Pierre Benoit entitled 'l'Art du Romanicer'; unbound as issued with original publisher's wrappers, in a later orange marbled slipcase.

Limited edition number 307 of 425 numbered copies; 4to; 20 colour plates by Icart and a facsimile letter by Colette on blue paper tipped-in opposite the limitation page, text in French, near-contemporary binding by A. Szekely in half morocco over marbled boards gilt, marbled endpapers and top edge gilt, a little rubbed at extremities, otherwise very good.

Folio in eights, 320 x 200 mm., [6],392,[1],[8], woodcut initials, 17th century ownership inscription, underlinings and occasional marginalia in ink, title dust-soiled and browned at edges with some chipping and one corner clipped, scattered staining heavy in places, a few worm holes and tracks with minor loss to text in a few places, rebound in modern calf-backed marbled boards.

  10. Folio; title printed in red & black with large woodcut device, woodcut initials and decorations, later bookplate mounted on verso of title, light dust-soiling to title, but overall internally in very good order, bound in antique style full modern calf, a handsome copy.
