Sampson Low, London, 1882

Very good copy of the first edition. A scarce work by this prolific and important commentator on the Russian threat to British interests in India and Central Asia. A former correspondent in St. Petersburg for the London Globe, he was fluent in Russian and knew a number of the Tsar's leading generals personally.
