Second and last edition in German translated from the third English edition (1904) and published on the occasion of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition , 1904, at St Louis to celebrate the centenary of the purchase of the huge French colony Louisiana from Napoleon for $15 million. This purchase nearly doubled the size of the United States at that time. The plan of St Louis shows the site of the Louisiana Purchase Exposition. This copy lacks the general map but still a desirable Baedeker.
