Description of the 1922 and 1924 attempts on Everest by Noel, the expeditions' photographer, and the background to the first Everest expedition in 1921.

Noel took part in the tragic expedition which involved the death of George Leigh Mallory and Andrew Irvine. Mallory's last message from the highest camp was addressed to Noel, instructing him where to look for his party on the morning of the last climb.

Also includes Noel's attempt to reach the mountain in 1913 when he crossed into Tibet from Sikkim.
