First illustrated edition, signed by the author and illustrator on the limitation page, number 13 of 300 numbered copies on English handmade paper; 8vo (231 x 160 mm); 7 lithographed plates, vignette half-title and title-page, head- and tail-pieces, all by William Nicholson, light spotting at extremities; original vellum binding, top edge gilt, others uncut, dust-jacket and scarce glassine wrapper, binding a bit bowed, dust-jacket lightly spotted at extremities with one small nick to upper panel, glassine wrapper creased with some tearing, very good condition overall.

First edition, first impression; 8vo; original pictorial boards by Victor Ambrus without dust-jacket as issued, minor bumping to spine ends but overall a superior, bright example, free of the sunning that plagues some copies.

First edition; small 8vo (165 x 100 mm.); wood-engraved frontispiece, 8pp. advertisements, contemporary gift inscription to front free endpaper, brown-coated endpapers with some wear at hinges possibly due to the adhesive used for the pastedowns; publisher's green cloth blocked in black with gilt title to spine and upper cover and gold medallion containing horse's portrait to upper cover, a little rubbed at corners, slight rolling of spine, but overall very good.

Title, [4] introduction, 27 hand-coloured engraved maps and 55 lithographs on india paper on 31 sheets, each map accompanied with printed leaves of text; bookseller's printed overslip ('Paris [...] Vve. Bouchard-Huzard') pasted onto date of title page, a few maps lightly browned, some spotting, mostly marginal. Contemporary green half morocco, gilt rules to covers, spine with raised bands gilt in compartments, marbled endpapers; neatly rebacked preserving spine, neat repairs to extremities.
