Firsts, London’s Rare Book Fair returns to the Saatchi gallery on the King’s Road from 15th to 18th September 2022. This year marks the 65th edition of one of the most popular and prestigious rare book fairs in the world. As Stephen Fry said ‘We are very lucky to have this kind of fair… it’s not elitist, it’s not specialist, you don’t have to be a scholar, you just have to be someone with an immense thirst for the glory of books’.

Two works in one vol., 4to De le stelle fisse: engraved title, 244pp., incorporating 47 full-page woodcut star maps printed recto and verso; De la sfera del mondo: engraved title, 12, 99pp. illustrations in text, eighteenth-century Italian half calf, marbled boards, morocco label, light soiling to title, an excellent copy.

Original vellum-backed buckram, top edges gilt, others uncut, some marks to spines, corners bumped, covers slightly faded, a very good set.
