First edition, 8vo, xii, 139 pp., tinted lithographed pictorial additional title, map of Java, and 23 lithographed views and plates (2 coloured, 21 tinted), short clean marginal tear at page 29-30 (not affecting text), light spotting and dust-soiling, contemporary brown half morocco gilt, marbled sides, top edge gilt, neat repair to head of spine, a very good example.

First Latin edition, folio (31.5 x 24 cms approx.), 51ff., including engraved title, 48 ½- or ¾-page engraved plates (of which 5 are maps), including the folding plate of the Bazaar, several woodcuts (some full-page), old stamps to title, modern calf-backed old marbled boards, vellum tips, a very good, well-margined copy.

Text with 2 engraved portrait frontispieces of Emperor Tchien Lung and the Earl of Macartney and 26 illustrations of which one full-page; atlas with 44 plates, including one folding, most after W. Alexander, and 7 double-page folding maps; occasional browning and spotting, heavier on 2 plates. Text volumes in contemporary calf, atlas volume in half calf over marbled boards; rebacked in lighter calf to style, a bit rubbed.

Small oblong folio, [30]; [10] ff., engraved plate to title-page, 10 further plates & 5 maps, with initial letter and colophon; engraved plate to title-page, map of Bali, 24 coastal profiles and a woodcut showing a pair of emu-like birds, with initial letter. Contemporary vellum, slightly cockled, with some light soiling, some early underlinings in the text, and neat ownership signature to title-page dated 1600.
