  1. First edition; 4to (28 x 23 cm); presentation inscription by photographer on half title page reads 'To Mohamed and Aicha Ouda, with friendship and much affection. Paul Strand. Cairo. April. 1965.', numerous black & white photographic illustrations; publisher's printed grey cloth, pictorial dust wrapper, chipped and worn; overall a very good copy.

  2. Together 3 volumes, 8vo. First work: 2 vols, fourth edition of vol. I, second edition of vol. II, vol. I with ads before title, vol. II with half-title and errata leaf at end. Second work: First edition. complete but with erratic pagination (pages 136-139 not used), contemporary mottled calf gilt, red sprinkled edges, vol. II lacks label, spines rubbed, light wear to tops of spines, a very good set.

  3. 18 bright and fresh watercolours, most of Scottish Lowland scenery, including coastal loch and sea views, and a few continental lakeside views, each average 17.5 x 25 cm (7 x 10 inches), on stiff wove paper mounted at corners to album leaves, along with several other pencil drawings, two with monochrome washes, by Burgess, including an excellent tree study, and his pupil, Lady Harriett Kerr, 3 initialled by her, mostly further continental landscapes, contained in a half-calf album, 4to. The watercolours in good, clean condition, the drawings generally likewise, the binding rubbed, corners slightly worn, calf spine sunned, cloth boards also unevenly faded.

Folio (37.5 x 26.5 cm.), plates watermarked 1808-1817, 105pp., 38 plates and plans comprising 10 hand-coloured aquatints, 4 of these folding, 28 uncoloured line engravings, 2 of these with touches of aquatint, and 5 folding, light soiling plate 5, large folding plate of Tew Lodge with dusty fore-edge and neat archival repairs to edge, modern green half morocco gilt over marbled boards, an excellent example.
