I with additional engraved vignette title by Bolt after Kinninger (foxed) of the supper scene between Commendatore and Don Giovanni, printed title with attractive ink presentation to upper corner margin, dated 1877) and 2 following pp. of text, engraved musical score 6-292pp, vol. II with printed title and engraved musical score 294-590pp, with separate printed divisional title 'Anhang von spaeter eingelegten Stuecken', some sporadic light foxing and minor staining, mostly to final leaf of vol. I, some leaves trimmed at upper edge with loss to pagination in vol.2 but in the main clean and bright; modern diced calf, upper covers lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers and edges, most attractive.

  2. 4to (285 x 230 mm); engraved vignette title with portrait of John Gay, Table of the Songs, Dramatis Personne 1777, Introduction, the playscript, and music score with libretto, toned, a few random spots or marks, otherwise very good; later full polished calf, scuffed, marked and bumped but very sound.

  6. First edition, 4to (31 x 24 cm); presentation copy, inscribed by Dolin to Sir Basil Bartlett on the half title page 'Dear Basil | Friend of many memories love Pat'. Tipped in 4 autograph postcards signed to Sir Basil Bartlett (late 1970s to early 1980s) containing brief chat about foreign trips, and also 4 ALSs also to Bartlett, from Italy and Japan, on both work and holidays with John Gilpin (3 one page), the other 2 pages from Capri referring to the death of Noël Coward; one TLS on the headed notepaper of the Lindsay Kemp company (10 May 1977) about appearing in Salomé with Kemp at the Broadway Theatre in Maida Vale. Also tipped in 3 newspaper obituaries of Dolin and a flyer for the international gala at the Royal Opera House celebrating Dolin. Very good condition (repaired minor tears to dust jacket, corners and edges of binding/spine lightly bumped).
