Abraham Goldberg (1906-1980) was a Jew of Polish extraction and holocaust survivor who has been called the Jewish Rembrandt. His themes included Jewish life, family and characters of the East-European Jewry, depicting the Jewish staitel, which was no longer in existence. He studied painting in the United States and in Paris, but mostly worked in Israel.
Each plate tipped onto card stock and numbered in lower left hand corner and signed by the artist in the lower right hand corner. Copy number 41 of an edition of 100.
Rare! No copies in OCLC of either this or the second edition of 1934, which was published in an edition of 500.
