Inscribed first edition. Lord Weary's Castle, Robert Lowell's second book of poetry, won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry in 1947 when Lowell was only thirty.

The inscription written in pencil on front free endpaper reads, 'For cousin Charlie / and Rosamond / with love / from, / Cal'. Cal was Lowell's nickname, short for 'Caligula', Rome's infamous third emperor.
