First edition, one of only 600 copies; 6 volumes bound in 11 parts, folio; 1087 plates, 250 of which are full-page heliogravures and 837 are smaller collotypes, each portrait is accompanied by text in French and Russian, each leaf is stamped 'les portraits russes', with the errarta and addenda slips and tables, incredibly fresh internally; contemporary half maroon morocco over marbled boards, with the original wrappers bound in, slight discolouration to bottom of the spine of one volume, otherwise in excellent condition.

Limited edition, number 127 of 275 copies; 4to (255 x 190 mm, 10 x 7 1/2 in); frontispiece, title vignette, 9 illustrations in text in two or three colours plus tailpieces by Alexeieff, Preface by Prince D. Sviatopolk-Mirsky; later quarter vellum over black cloth boards, after the original, gilt title to spine and front cover, top edge gilt, others uncut some minor spotting, as usual, otherwise very good.

First French edition; 8vo; presentation copy signed by the author on the front free endpaper, 204pp.; original publisher's printed wrappers, slightly sunned, a very good copy.

First edition, oblong folio (39 x 53 cm); title-page in Cyrillic, ten chromolithographs loose as issued with captions in Russian and French, in good condition; in the original publisher's red cloth portfolio, without the ties, silver gilt title in French to upper cover.

Landscape folio (40 x 54 cm); title-page with portrait of the artist and 24 lithographs mounted on thick paper, bound with a further 28 plates from a later work, some minor stains but overall very clean, marbled endpapers, a.e.g.; contemporary red morocco gilt, with gilt lettering to upper cover, edges rubbed and corners bumped.

First edition, folio (41.3 x 28.5 cm); photographic portrait frontispiece, & 77 plates tipped-in (including 50 colour); very occasional marginal spotting; original publisher's half vellum over marbled boards; small stains to vellum.

Folio (37.6 x 28.5 cm); title, colour title, 72, [2] pp. 8 colour plates tipped-in on thicker board including two portraits, 7 black and white plates, some half-page, with many illustrations in text; one plate loose. Original publisher's cloth, double-headed eagle centrepiece to upper cover, spine lettered in gilt; rubbed at extremities, ends of spine chipped, some spotting to upper cover.

First edition. Two parts in one volume large folio (61.8 x 44 cm). First part: 23 leaves numbered I-XXIX (3rd leaf = III, IV, 4th = V, VI, 7th = IX, X, XII (XI not used), 9th = XIV, XV, XVI, plate XXI i & XXI ii) being title, chromo-lithograph dedication and plates of medals, arms and regimental flags; Second part: 56 lithographs of costumes printed in colour by Godard and finished by hand; occasional marginal spotting; contemporary green half morocco, flat spine with compartments decorated and lettered in gilt, marbled endpapers, gilt edges; slightly rubbed, corners a bit bumped.
