Second work: First edition. complete but with erratic pagination (pages 136-139 not used), contemporary mottled calf gilt, red sprinkled edges, vol. II lacks label, spines rubbed, light wear to tops of spines, a very good set.

First edition. 8 volumes bound in 4, 4to, with an aquatint dedication and 308 hand-coloured aquatint plates by and after Daniell bound at rear of volumes, the deluxe issue with all the plates mounted on card, with the frequently missing large folding engraved index map (strengthened to verso), occasional spotting (chiefly marginal), a few plates a little toned, some offsetting from plates to next plate versos, contemporary green half morocco gilt, bound as usual without the uncoloured engraved plate of Kemaes Head Pembrokeshire, an excellent set.

First edition. 4to., 20 pp., 54 collotype plates, each plate is accompanied by a guard sheet with descriptive letterpress, original black cloth gilt, neat repair to spine, a very good copy.

Second edition, 'mise en un meilleur ordre', 4 parts in 2 vols; folio (35 x 27.5 cm); introduction by Bazin, 179 of 181 hand-coloured lithographs (on 177 leaves), with four leaves of music and a hand-coloured vignette, engraved by Aubry-le-Comte, Deveria, Grévédon after drawings by père Castiglione, Pu-Qua and William Alexander (from Pittoresque representations of the dress and manners of the Chinese), Chambers, Dadley etc.,; quarter green morocco with blue marbled boards, spines in compartments with gilt and black morocco design, gilt title to second, some plates with minor stains, edges bumped, a fine copy.

First edition. 4to., title and 24 tipped-in photographs, arranged 1 or 2 per page, captioned below image, original illustrated wrappers, small loss to head o spine, a very good copy of a scarce title.

Third and best edition, 3 volumes, 8vo, first 2 volumes illustrated with maps and plates, third volume consisting of notes and addenda by Cordier, original green cloth, spines decorated in blue, morocco labels, an excellent bright set.
